I presented this lecture to the Hong Kong Society of Anesthesiologists in Nov 2012.
I suspect that improved medical therapy (and less likely, coronary revascularization) have mad coronary artery disease less of a risk factor than in the past. The data in the slide set below suggests that frailty, aortic stenosis, and CHF may be much more important in predicting postop cardiac events in the modern era.
