Course Overview

STATEMENT OF NEED: This activity is designed to help clinicians learn how to manage individual patients undergoing complex surgery so they emerge faster, with less pain, nausea and vomiting, and cognitive decline; and hasten the return of functional status. The activity will also facilitate adoption of systems-based practice to improve population health in surgical patients.
TARGET AUDIENCE: This activity is designed for anesthesiologists, hospitalists, intensivists, pain management physicians, CRNAs.
ACCREDITATION AND DESIGNATION STATEMENTS: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of PeerPoint Medical Education Institute and the destinationCME LLC. Not Your Mother’s Preoperative Cardiac Evaluation: CIEDs, Atrial Fibrillation, and CHF

1. Manage patients with cardiac implantable electrical devices.
2. Manage perioperative antiarrhythmics and anticoagulants in patients with atrial fibrillation.
